In the 2025/2026 school year, we will host Zebulon Pike (Zeb) DCS Montessori's full-time facility dog. Research shows that the presence of a dog can promote greater self-esteem and focused interaction with other students and teachers, relieve stress and anxiety, and provide emotional comfort and literacy support for students. Not only will students benefit from the rewards of having a service dog in the classroom, but we hope they will gain a better understanding and respect for those with limitations with whom the dog would eventually be placed. We are excited to continue this opportunity for students to be a part of doing good and volunteering in the community. Zeb will share his time with Ms. Denise's classroom and ours.
👟Don't forget tied shoes for PE days or a change of shoes when wearing snow boots or slide on shoes.
