The 26-27 DCSD Middle School Honor Band/Honor String Ensembles

*Students report on Saturday January 16, 2027 by 11:15am*

*Dress rehearsal, from 11:30pm to 4:00pm*

( For the Dress Rehearsal, students must bring a hearty snack or sack lunch)

*If accepted into an Honor Group, in addition to the Concert day rehearsal and performance, students must attend 3 required pre-rehearsals/sectionals on:

Tuesday December 1, 2026 - 5:30pm-7:30pm at Cimarron Middle School in Parker (Map) (10-15 minute Parent Meeting from 5:40pm-5:5:50pm)

Thursday January 7, 2027 - 5:30pm-8:00pm at  Mesa Middle School in Castle Rock (Map)

Friday January 15, 2026 - 5:30pm-7:30pm at Highlands Ranch High School in Highlands Ranch (Map)

**Failure to attend a rehearsal without prior notification may result in you being asked to not participate**

Honor Group Participation Cost and Transportation Requirements

• $30.00 Non-Refundable Participation Fee (based on the audition outcome, students/parents pay this if asked to be in an honor group)

• Parents are responsible for all Transportation to and from the required rehearsals and the performance.

FAQ: What does the Participation Fee Go Towards?

• The Participation fee goes towards the District Honor Group operating costs, which may include but are not limited to:

1.      Compensating guest clinicians/conductors for travel, time/services, food, lodging etc.

2.      Purchasing Organization percussion equipment accessories for our use

3.      Providing dinner for students the day of the performance

4.      Compensating accompanists and guest musician 

5.      Providing a possible keepsake from the event etc. 

6.      Purchasing Honor Group owned percussion equipment

7.      Purchasing any music for performances or any licensing needed to perform musical works
