Homework

We will be doing homework throughout the year. I will be sending home a HOME CONNECTIONS book for you to keep at home. I will send home what pages are due that week and all you need to do is tear them out, HAVE YOUR CHILD WRITE THEIR NAME, and return to school by Friday.

Thursday Folders

Your child will be bringing home a communication folder on Thursday with their work to keep at home. Please check this folder regularly.

Snack

Please send in a healthy, dry, disposable snack. We will have our snack at our morning recess.

Dismissal

Please know that I will be sending your child home everyday according to what you shared with me. There will be no exceptions unless I receive a signed note in the morning or you call the office to make us aware of other arrangements. I often cannot check my email until after 4:00 pm so emailing me about a change does not work. Please try to avoid picking your child up early if at all possible; however, if necessary you can check your child out at the front office, they will call me and I will send your child to meet you there.

Positive Behavior System

At Mountain View, the students can earn 'MV3 Slips' this year for demonstrating respect, responsibility and safety throughout the building. They can earn these as a whole class or as individuals. The class can earn these for being MV3 (Respect, Responsibility, Safety) from other adults in the building. The individual slips will have a place for their name and a brief description of what they did to earn them. When they earn as individuals, one copy of the slip will be turned into the office and possibly read on announcements. The other copy will be sent home for celebration at home! When our class reaches 100 Paw Slips (a combined total of individual and whole-class) we will celebrate with a Paw Party! The class will decide on these parties and I will email you to let you know.

Our class is using class dojo. This is a virtual system where students can earn points for their positive behaviors, such as: being on task, following directions, being a good listener, being kind, etc. Students can redeem classroom prizes in exchange for class dojo points. I heavily rely on the positive aspect of this system; however, points can be taken away if necessary, and it will be accompanied with a note explaining why a point was taken. You can view all of this information by signing up for class dojo. Class dojo also has a messaging component which we can easily communicate with about student behavior or any other question or concern you may have.

Birthdays

Students are not allowed to hand out invitations at school unless the invitations are for all boys, all girls or everyone in the room.

Please sign up with the PTO directory so your child can be included in birthday parties.

I am unable to give out personal information for parties, so please make sure to sign up with the PTO Directory so your child does not get left out!

You are welcome to send in SIMPLE (PLEASE NOTHING TOO MESSY), treats or goodies.
