Welcome! Thank you for visiting our web page. My name is Gina Raines, I am the counselor for Cherry Valley Elementary school. I support all of our Cherry Valley students through a program called Second Step. The Second Step Program is a research based program that supports the social-emotional development, safety, and the well being of all students. I also support students through individual and group counseling. I am at Cherry Valley on Mondays, and am virtually providing the Second Step Lessons on Fridays.
Please reach out to me if you have any questions or would like to set up supports for your student.
If you would like to contact me please e-mail me at: graines@dcsdk12.org.
Hi and welcome to Cherry Valley Elementary (CVE) for the 2020-2021 school year! My name is Mary Smith and I wear multiple hats at CVE. I support students as your school social worker, 3rd-4th grade social studies teacher, art teacher, and gifted and talented facilitator. It's an honor to get to know CVE students as both a teacher and support professional! I work at CVE on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
As the school social worker, I primarily provide resources and consultation related to special education evaluation and supports. I'm also available to collaborate with Gina Raines, our school counselor, to provide resources and supports to our students and families.
Outside of school, I'm a mom to three young adults and multiple pets. I'm a Colorado native and attended, then graduated from DCSD, a LONG time ago! All three of my children also graduated from DCSD, so this district is deeply important to me.
If you would like to contact me, please email at mesmith@dcsdk12.org or call 303-387-8810.
