The Cherry Valley PTO takes a proactive approach in providing volunteer support and additional funding for our school. Our involvement and fundraising efforts are based on our goal of furthering each student's academic achievement and helping them to be enthusiastic and innovative learners. If you are interested in joining our school PTO, we would love to have you! The Cherry Valley PTO is a Chapter of the Douglas County Educational Foundation, a 501(c)(3) corporation, and your contribution is tax-deductible within the limits of the law.
The purpose of the SAC is to inform, encourage and provide opportunities for parent and community members to be involved in the planning and evaluation of the school’s instructional program and quality improvement processes. The SAC makes recommendations concerning the school’s Performance, Improvement, Priority Improvement, or Turnaround plan, and meets at least quarterly to discuss implementation of the school’s plan and other progress pertinent to the school’s accreditation contract with the Board of Education. Final decision-making authority rests with the principal or other person or group receiving the recommendation from the SAC (e.g., The Superintendent, District Accountability Committee(“DAC”) or Board of Education).
The SAC consists of the Principal, one Teacher, three Parents, one PTO Representative, and one Local Business Person. This year, the SAC meetings will be held quarterly. All meetings are open to the public.
