Apply for Free and Reduced-Price Meals
Although the USDA is providing universal free meals through the 2021-2022 school year, families are strongly encouraged to complete the annual application for free and reduced-price meals. Families approved for this program receive benefits including eligibility for the Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) program, a cash-like benefit to purchase groceries for students to replace meals they would have normally received when in-person at school during the pandemic.
In addition, those who qualify for free and reduced lunch are eligible for reduced or waived school fees and transportation fees. Submitting an application also helps ensure that schools receive resources to support healthy meals for students and afterschool programs.
