Class Change Policy
Schedules may be changed 1 week before fall semester begins. Students can request their desired change during registration days. Students and Parents must fill out a class change form completely and submit it to the counseling office.
Schedule changes for the current semester may only be changed 5 days before and within the first 5 days of Quarter 1 or Quarter 3. Students must fill out a class change form and submit to the counseling office. Class changes forms DO NOT guarantee a schedule change. If you are granted a change you will receive a new class schedule from the counseling office. If you do not receive a new schedule continue to attend classes on original schedule.
After 5 school days have passed in the semester, classes may no longer be changed. No schedule changes for 2nd and 4th quarter!!
Union’s Class Add/Drop Policy prohibits counselors from making schedule changes after the five-day deadline except when requested by a teacher for a level change or if initiated through Union’s Administration.
This policy was created to:
Protect Curriculum time
Minimize distractions/disruptions
Award full credit for the term/semester
Most importantly it shelters the student from being academically behind in another course.
As Union High’s counseling department, we believe much can be gained both academically and behaviorally in persevering through academic challenges. We would be happy to sit down and discuss options available to help students be successful in their current courses.
