Shoes/Competition spikes
ALL athltes need a good pair of training shoes. These are at investment in your athletes health.
Reno Running Co is a great option.
Well-cushioned shoes are commonly believed to reduce injury risk. The theory is that absorbing and dissipating forces generated by footstrike (which can easily be three times the runner's body weight), reduces the impact forces, and also the injury risk, transmitted to the lower limb.
Competition Spikes ( I have the spikes that screw into the shoes. Please do not purchases your own....they are likely the wrong size/shape)
Distance Runners - distance spikes - Identified by having a cushioned heel
Sprinters/Jumpers - Sprint Spikes - have no cushion/padding on heel
Jumpers - you can get jumping spikes if you want in addition to sprint spike but not required.
