DCSD COVID-19 Information

introduction

Douglas County School continues to monitor data concerning the current COVID-19 conditions in Douglas County and the Quad County area and refine plans as needed during the 2021-22 school year. This website is intended to be a "one stop shop" for all the information you may need related to COVID-19. We have included the DCSD data dashboard, as well as other dashboards from Nevada Health Response, Quad County, and the CDC. We will also update the site with upcoming vaccination opportunities, as well as information regarding COVID-19 testing.

Douglas County School District continues to work in close cooperation with Carson City Health and Human Services to quickly identify active cases and close contacts. Our case investigations are now supported by Abbott BinaxNOW Rapid test kits, which can be administered in school health offices. With parental consent, these tests may be performed on students and staff who become symptomatic during the school day and their close contacts. Tests will only be administered on student and staff who have symptoms or are identified as close contacts of a school related case.

The table below reflects COVID-19 cases from the start of the 2021-22 school year to the Christmas Break.
