About Your Teacher

Jessica Holmes

Mrs. Holmes has been with Decatur City Schools since 2004. This is her 21st year in her teaching career. She received her bachelor's degree from Athens State University and most recently her master's in education degree from the University of West Alabama. This is her 6th year teaching with the virtual program in Decatur City Schools. She shares a passion for teaching students in a virtual environment. 

She teaches Secondary English Language Arts in grades 6-12.

Mrs. Holmes is married to her husband, Jeremy, and has 3 children, Tristan a sophomore in college, Sammy a junior in high school, and Miss Albany a 6th grader.

Mrs. Holmes enjoys going to her son's basketball games & golf matches. 

Mrs. Holmes loves to read and write in her spare time. Mrs. Holmes enjoys being an amateur photographer in her spare time as well. 

Other extracurricular hobbies are watching her daughter ride horses, learning art and painting, along with being the best mom and friend she can be to her kids and husband.
