Independent study/career internship*: Would you like to learn more about career opportunities within our division like teaching, personal trainers, and more?
Students and teachers work together with the Instructional Specialist for Career Readiness to develop a customized learning plan and training agreement that allows you to get hands-on experience in a career field that you are most interested in. Students should be enrolled or already completed a Career and Technical Education course that provides the content knowledge base for the development of the training agreement.

Classroom student aide*: Are you a senior that is an "expert" for in a course pathway like JROTC, Agriculture or want to assist in another classroom?
Seniors who have completed a CTE sequence and are requested/recommended by their teacher, may have an opportunity to serve as a classroom teaching assist. These opportunities are unpaid, but can allow you to share your knowledge and experience with underclassmen that are in the CTE course pathway that best aligns to your skills.
Reach out to your CTE teacher to learn more about this opportunity and to see if you qualify!
Marketing School Store Manager*: Have you successfully completed Marketing Management and wish to be a school store manager?

*Work-based learning opportunities, require the completion of a student portfolio. The student will work with the WBL specialist to develop the portfolio which must include the following:
❏ Training Agreement
❏ Training Plan (Internship & Cooperative Education ONLY)
❏ Student Resume - 20%
❏ Documentation of Hours Worked (timesheets)- 20%
❏ Journal - 20%
❏ Tracking completion of milestones/goals - Weekly Journal entry
WBL Coordinator may add a question prompt for you to answer for a specific journal entry to assist with content
Journal entries should discuss new things learned; tasks that were challenging; how you dealt with the challenge etc.
