Retakes are available to those who:
Do their homework with an average score of 75% or higher for all Math classes and 80% or higher for all Advanced Math classes AND only if you earn below an 80% on the first test.
Check PowerSchool if you are unsure of these score for the current topic
If you qualify, you must then complete the following in a timely manner:
Complete quality corrections on the problems missed on the test, including partials. This should prepare you for the retake which will not have any multiple choice questions. All work must be shown!
Meet with Mrs. Panelli for a check on your corrections and a discussion about what you learned from doing them. At this time she will also check for homework completion.
Take the retake test in CUB or after school for a new grade.
Please note that any retake score can only earn an 80% in the gradebook even if you score above that on the retake test, as per district policy.
Didn't qualify for a retake?
This mean you didn't complete all your homework assignments and/or achieve good scores prior to the assessment. Student who don't take their homework seriously don't qualify for retakes. Please do your homework when assigned and be sure it is completed with a 75% (80% for Adv) scores or an overall 75% score prior to a test.
If your assignment is still "Not Started" or "In Progress" when homework is removed and graded for a topic, the morning of the test, it earns a zero. Don't let that happen to your overall homework score and therefore your overall grade in this class! Please talk to me ASAP if for some reason you aren't able to complete your homework and we'll figure something out so you can.
So you've got to do the work, like homework & corrections, to grow your brain!
Doing Corrections for a 70%:
This needs to be done in a timely manner - usually within one week of finishing the test the first time.
If you did not qualify for a retake, you may do corrections for a 70%. On your test paper in class, or on a separate piece of paper from home, show me how you would do the problem correctly now that you know what the correct answer is. See below for an examples.
Here is a video on how to use your completed test to do corrections for a better grade and to prepare for a retake.
This is an example of a test corrections paper.
