We hosted two boys from Taiwan. Lucas and Jeffrey were polite, funny and incredibly curious. They were eager to join our family in all activities and play with our kids and their friends. They told us all sorts of fascinating things about their life in Taiwan, and we enjoyed learning about different ways of living. For our family, having them with us was exciting, enriching and not a burden whatsoever - by coordinating with other host families, we helped each other out and we did not feel pressured to massively change our schedules. Most importantly, our kids now have lovely friends in a faraway country and we cannot wait to visit them this coming summer ;-)

We were fortunate enough to host Jan from Lleida the same year his family hosted Edlyn. Sharing our home, our beautiful city and family fall traditions was a daily treat. We had a lot of great discussions around Spain and the United States as well as just getting to know each other’s families better. The Voyager program has been amazing, kicking off an enduring connection between our two families;)

Welcoming Nell and Yolanda into our home reminded me of the importance of staying open to exploration, wonder, and the joy of new connections. Each of them brought with her a whole new lens through which to see our city. Now, my daughter has friends from all over the globe.
For Marina, being part of Sergi's family on the other side of the world was a precious experience. It opened her heart and mind to different ways of living and thinking. It also helped her discover how far she can go on her own, learning to be independent and confident in herself.

"We had great experiences hosting across DC, including some adventures we'd never done before. And our son and his exchange buddies did some great new adventuring of their own!"
