In past years, we asked students in grades 9-12 to submit a full written Artist Statement, but many participants and coordinators shared that the process felt overwhelming. In response to this feedback, we have simplified the requirement: students will now only need to answer the provided set of questions in the PDF below. This ensures that the Artist Statement remains meaningful and consistent for all students without being burdensome.  The questions may be answered in English, Spanish, or Portuguese.
