I believe it is vitally important to periodically evaluate yourself as a teacher. I will constantly be evolving and developing my teaching style over time in order to meet the needs of my ever-changing student population. I will also gather feedback from my students themselves to assess their opinions on my teaching philosophies and whether they felt I was an effective teacher. I will use every resource available to me to ensure that my students get the education that they need and that they deserve.
I believe that the relationship between the student and the teacher is critical to the student's academic performance. I will strive to cultivate meaningful relationships with students. Teachers should act as a guide, pointing the students in the right direction and giving them the essential tools they will need to be successful. As long as teachers work to build bonds with their students, mutual respect and understanding will emerge. Similarly, it is of the utmost importance to me to include morals and values in the classroom. I want to teach my students science, honesty, respect, and determination. I will, as a mentor and a friend, be helping these students get ready for their future. I want my students to leave my classroom with high self-esteem and a positive self-concept.
According to the research listed below, student-teacher relationships usually result in more student independence, improved academic performance, and less classroom-related conflict. The classroom environment is more instrumental to learning if it meets most of the student's needs.
My job as an educator is to understand the diverse learning styles of my students to help me design effective instruction. Every class holds a variety of learners, and I will design my lessons around research-based models that can accommodate a mixture of learning styles. I will organize and apply lessons that clearly identify learning objectives, engage students, and assess their understanding of the material. My goal is to use a wide variety of educational methods to encourage discussion and peer interaction on the topics covered within each lesson.
