Purpose
Purpose
Work-Based Learning Programs (WBL) is a continuum of awareness, exploration, preparation, and training activities, including developing employability and technical skills that support success in careers and postsecondary education. Structured learning and authentic work experiences are implemented through an education and industry partnership. Students have the opportunity to connect what they learn in school with worksite application, enabling a smooth transition into the work force and/or education beyond high school. Work-Based Learning activities culminate in an assessment and recognition of acquired knowledge and skills.
Application Process
Admission into WBL or YAP is not guaranteed.
Students must submit a complete application and meet all admissions requirements prior to the deadline to be admitted.
Students not meeting all criteria or not submitting an application on time will still be considered, but not guaranteed admission.

What do I have to do once I am in the class?
Go to work! For each release period, you must work 7.5 hours per week.
Complete assignments in Google classroom. These are usually posted bi-weekly.
Provide proof of employment. This includes weekly timesheets, pay stubs, etc.
How many WBL blocks may I take?
Admitted students may take 1 block of WBL per semester. Seniors who have successfully completed a year of WBL may be eligible for 2 blocks, pending schedule availability.
Do I have to have a job in order to apply?
No! Employers reach out to me looking for student workers. I often have multiple job openings!
