In the course of a normal year, parents are invited to volunteer in the library at TDS at any time. However, due to COVID19 and visitor restrictions, parents are not allowed into the building. Accelerated Reader Home Connect letters are sent home every year as requested to inform parents of access to student AR reports in order to help parents keep abreast of student progress. Students are allowed to take AR tests from home during this school year. The library also has a closed Facebook group page in an effort to communicate with parents but currently all communication is taking place on the school closed Facebook group page.

  • We have a yearly Literacy Fair that parents are invited to attend.

  • After TCAP is over, the 4th and 5th grade students stage a Living History Museum. Parents are invited to visit.

  • Newsletters are sent home periodically regarding important information parents need to know about library activities.

  • You will find a Reading Helps Google Site that provides links to videos and a Parent Guide to Phonics that parents can read and watch in order to help their children improve their reading skills.
