The Ag. Shop is an important part of the Dove Creek Agriculture Program. Students learn hands-on skills in the shop that will provide them with the knowledge and skills to be successful in many different careers in the future.
In this semester long course, students learn basic woodworking skills using hand tools.
Students can build wooden tables, wooden toolboxes, or birdhouses. Each class typcially votes to build a different project.
Students refine their woodworking skills in this course and level up to power tools.
Ag I Students will be building Adirondack Chairs.
Students learn basic metal fabrication skills in Ag II. They learn about arc and Mig welding.
Students typically build a class project and an individual project.
In these upper level courses, students advance their woodworking and metalworking skills, as well as learn about basic carpentry skills, electrical wiring, and small engine technology.
Students have learned about small engines, electrical systems, plumbing (copper and pvc), and hydraulics.
Students also pass certifications in Tractor Operation and OSHA-10.
Students have built a greenhouse, sheds, and a trailer that are then auctioned off to ensure that we continue to have enough funds to build future projects.
