My goals as an FFA Advisor for the Dove Creek Chapter is to expose students to life changing events and skills through the National FFA Organization.
Students will have every opportunity to participate in events and earn awards, but they will have to do the work. I will support anything a student has an interest in --CDE/LDE competitions or SAE growth and development for awards and recognition.
FFA creates opportunities for students to become leaders in their school and community and develops life-long skills that all students need.
I am a Dove Creek native and am proud to teach in my hometown. Dove Creek is a special place, and the people here are awesome. I firmly believe that Dove Creek students are the best!
My background in ag comes from my family farm, south of Dove Creek. My husband, kids, and I raise a small herd of yaks, horses, mules, and occasionally hogs.
I worked in wildlife management for nearly 10 years prior to beginning my teaching career.
I was actively involved in my Ag Classes and FFA while in High School, and I know that much of what I can do today is directly affected by the knowledge and skills that I learned from the Ag Program that I went through.

I believe students need direct instruction but also need to learn by doing. In the classroom, I introduce topics and skills that can be applied outside of school. My hope is that every student takes something away from Ag class that they can use outside of school or in their future career (agriculture or not).
Communication between myself, the students, and parents is key to a successful program. I would love to hear from the community about what the Ag Program can do to help.
