Our mysterious ocean is full of amazing creatures, beautiful reefs and deep secrets. But it's slowly dying due to human action. We produce pollution such as plastic pollution, light pollution, land pollution, air pollution and water pollution. These cause marine life to become endangered or even go extinct! On this page, you can explore different endangered animals and learn how dangerous ocean pollution is.
Pollution and plastic in the ocean is harmful and deadly for endangered animals like sea turtles and whales. Some kids of birds can get sick or even die because of all the trash in the water. When they eat plastic, it can hurt their stomachs. The harmful chemicals in plastic can also make it hard for these animals to have babies or stay healthy. We need to stop throwing trash in the ocean to help these special animals survive and keep our oceans clean and safe for them.
Sea turtles are one of the endangered sea animals that had out lived the dinosaurs. There are 6 different breeds of them and all six of them are endangered. Most breeds live in the coral coasts of the US. The main reason for them dying is because of light and plastic pollution because sea turtle babies follow the brightest thing they see, which is often the ocean, but due to light pollution, they don't go to the ocean any more. They follow brightest thing they see, which is probably the opposite of the ocean making it hard for them to survive. Plastic pollution also affects them by hurting or making them sick. Most sea turtles get straws stuck in their nose, making it both hurting and hard to breath.
