Narwhals are cousins of beluga whales. Narwhals live in the Arctic and are known for their long horns. Tough skin is layered on their body, protecting them from the cold. Not all narwhals have horns. Normally only the male narwhal is born with a horn, but sometimes a female is born with one too. They are also very social animals, meaning these mammals travel in groups called pods. In every pod there are around 10-15 narwhals.
