Monday (9/7) - NO SCHOOL (Labor Day)
On Tuesday (9/8), students took notes on fraction vocabulary, place values, and percent. They also learned how to convert between fractions and decimals.
On Wednesday (9/9), students took notes on conversion tricks and they learned how to convert between a percents and decimals.
On Thursday (9/10), students took notes on converting between fractions and percents. They also took their first Common Conversions quiz. They will have the opportunity to retake the quiz as many times as necessary until they recieve a 100%. They also had work time in-class to work on the Conversions WKS (due Friday).
On Friday (9/11), students reviewed conversions (using a flow map), did a warm-up, graded their HW, took their weekly quiz on Conversions, and had an opportunity to retake the common conversions quiz.

On Monday (8/31), students will finish the Algebra 1 Pre-Assessment and will have an opportunity to retake their multiplication facts quiz (100 facts, 1–12, in 5 minutes) and complete the Challenge Problems (see the Resources tab).
On Tuesday (9/1), students will participate in a number sense activity designed to help them perform math facts quickly by visualizing and manipulating numbers.
On Wednesday (9/2) and Thursday (9/3), we will begin Unit 1. The first few weeks of the unit will focus on addressing gaps in students’ knowledge based on their pre-assessment results. The first topic we will cover is conversions. Students will focus on common conversions between fractions, decimals, and percents that they will be expected to memorize.
On Friday (9/4), students will take notes on fractions and place value, as well as how to convert between decimals and percents.
