Ms. Anderson

Greetings Fourth Grade Families!

Meet Your Teacher

Kayla Anderson  |  4th Grade  |  Ascent Classical Academy of Douglas County

Hello Fourth Grade Families!

I am excited to work with you and your student this year. The fourth-grade curriculum is wonderful, and I can't wait to share it with you.

I grew up mostly in Georgia, starting fourth grade there, then moved to Colorado after my first year of college. I finished my Bachelor of Arts in English and Literary Studies at the University of Colorado Denver.

Literature, grammar, and composition are the subjects closest to my heart. However, I am very excited for what we'll cover in math, history, and science. I truly believe your student will enjoy every subject this year if they don't already.

I had the joy of being an Apprentice Teacher with one of the third-grade classes at Ascent Classical Academy Douglas County last year. When I found ACA, I immediately fell in love with everything they represented and taught to their students. I couldn't be happier to be teaching this year!

I am looking forward to a wonderful year with your children, and I hope you will reach out with any questions about our classroom and the year ahead.

Sincerely,

Kayla Anderson

MEET YOUR TEACHER'S ASSISTANTS

Mrs. Megan Storhaug

Hello families of Ms. Anderson's 4th grade class!

My name is Mrs. Megan Storhaug. I was born and raised in The Golden State (California) and have called Colorado “home” now for 12+ years! I have been married for 12 years, and my husband and I have two children. I am a graduate of California Baptist University (Go Lancers!), and hold a B.A. in Communication Studies. While I have used my degree in a variety of job roles/titles, my greatest joy in life has been in my role as a mother to my children. I look forward to using my experiences and applying my knowledge in the classroom as a Teacher’s Assistant, this school year.

I appreciate the academia of a classical liberal arts education, such as is offered here at Ascent Classical Academy of Douglas County - the instruction and emphasis of virtues are something I believe is imperative to character development. I am eager to be supporting Ascent Classical Academy of Douglas County 4th grade teachers and students this year, as a Teaching Assistant. I feel honored to be a contributing and supportive presence in your student’s academic experience this school year. I look forward to serving the faculty and students, I am confident this academic year will be one of growth and goodness. Thank you!

Mrs. Vanessa Lynn
