ABOUT ME

As an Air Force career Veteran, I am proud of our country and our nation's military.  I care about our young people and doing what I can to help them to grow up and be responsible, contributing adults.  I have experience in Meteorology, Aircraft Maintenance, and teaching ROTC at the college level.  I have also taught JROTC at the high school level.   My recent career was as a counselor with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.  Finally, I am a certified substitute teacher with the state of Colorado. 

I have a bachelors degree in math and history from the University of Mary Hardin Baylor.  I have a Master of Science degree in rehabilitation counseling from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago.

EDUCATION PHILOSOPHY

A successful student of history should be able to read & comprehend history and communicate what they know to others, by speaking and writing.  

A successful student of science will learn by both reading and doing science.  We will incorporate some science activities into our year as it becomes practical with the curriculum.  

WHAT I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO

History comes alive with stories.  I am looking forward to hearing about what the students learn.  

Lively discussion is an important component to learning, but our Science class will come even more alive with activities.  We will infuse as many activities as is practical into our days.
