ABOUT ME
The 2026-2027 school year will be my 9th year as a teacher. I am a scientist by formal training and spent many years in the oil and gas industry. When the Hillsdale schools expanded to Colorado, I made the career move and haven't regretted it for a minute. I have taught science, but I really enjoy teaching math. It is a worthwhile endeavor to get students to fully appreciate the beauty of the world around us through a math lens.
EDUCATION PHILOSOPHY
I believe that all students want to learn. And they want to do this in an environment that has structure, discipline, and accountability. That is really not different that any human. While students are not garanteed to have exciting teachers, it sure does help. I try to bring my A-game to class everyday and I ask the students to try to do the same.

My favorite book is The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas. Interestingly, this book was recommended to me by two 6th graders who were in my PreAlgebra class. I now read the book every summer!

My favorite subjects when I was in school were math and science. However, now I find myself reading and studying history. I enjoy learning more about our Founding Fathers and Abraham Lincoln.

I was drawn to Hillsdale schools because they focus on the Good, True, and Beautiful. I also love the fact that we have a dress code because it teaches you to be part of something bigger than yourself.

I started an Australian cattle dog rescue group over 20 years ago. We are an all-volunteer group and we have rehomed over 4,000 dogs!
