Welcome to Geometry!
This course introduces students to Euclidean Geometry as a demonstrative discipline through proofs of geometrical propositions from certain and self-evident principles. In addition to exploring the foundations of geometrical knowledge, students are taught how to apply that knowledge to concrete problems and how to integrate pure geometry with algebraic reasoning and expression. This course places a special emphasis on the nature of demonstrative knowledge, the development of logical thinking skills, and the arts of analytic and synthetic reasoning. Major topics include lines and angles, triangles and polygons, ratios and proportion, coordinate geometry, and circles.
