Here are the key guidelines for using Chromebooks at DBIS:

  • The Chromebook is for school related use and should be charged and available for all related work and study in school.
  • You must take reasonable care and security precautions when using the Chromebook at all times.
  • You must take all sensible precautions to safeguard the Chromebook. For example, the Chromebook must be locked in the Student’s locker or class storage trolley when it needs to be left unattended for a period of time.
  • You are required to immediately report any damage or loss of the Chromebook to the School.
  • Year 7 - 9 students are permitted and encouraged to take the Chromebook home, but shall not lend it to anyone.
  • All Android apps, Chrome apps and extensions, together with any content associated with them, must adhere to the School’s Acceptable Use Policy.
  • You are permitted to personalise the settings of your assigned Chromebook to your own working style.
  • With the exception of a small name label, approved by the school, you shall not decorate or embellish your Chromebook.
  • The Chromebook remains the property of the School at all times.
  • Chromebooks are for use within learning areas only and should not be used outside at break times.

When using any form of learning technology at DBIS we all adhere to our DBIS Magna Carta for the Digital Age. Please make sure you understand and agree to our school pledge which was created by the whole school community and published in January 2017:
