The word 'manage' means to organise or regulate something and also to be in charge of the operation. You are expected to be able to recognise different management types across the world at a variety of scales.
These scales would normally include:
Council decrees, by-laws, ordinances and zoning, simple fences, walkways, sanctuaries and so on.
State Government organisations like the State Pollution Control Commission, the Department of the Environment, national parks (in Australia these are state controlled but called "national" parks, where as in the USA they are nationally controlled) recreation and wilderness areas, wetland protection, state parks, and so on.
Maritime Zoning, Environmental Policies and Strategies, Conservation Strategies and so on.
