The benefits of being grateful ...

Sometimes we show gratitude because it is expected of us. It is the 'polite' thing to do to say thank you to someone. A quick throw away "thanks!" may not always mean much to the giver or the receiver.

But what are the benefits of being really grateful? Or of being mindful of our gratefulness? Not only does it benefit the person you are grateful to, but giving our gratitude to others also benefits our own wellbeing.
