The Other Sides
Digital Media, Water colour, Artliner, Pencil, collage
My body of work is inspired by the idea of the other side of the characters we love to hate and how they have imperfections such as lying, drinking, lazing, and acting superior to others but they also have good sides to them like compassion, honesty, and generosity to others. I will make my body of work based around exposing the imperfections of these characters to then reveal a lighter side of the characters for the audience to sympathise these characters that were created to be hated.
My artists of influence are Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol as I use their techniques throughout the body of work with Roy Lichtenstein’s comic book like format and his famous Benday Dots technique and Andy Warhol’s triptych technique engaging the audience with eye-catching duplicates of the same image that are differently coloured to convey a “centre of attention” vibe to each artwork.

Bleak Skies
Painting
‘Bleak Skies’ explores the growing impact of technology on nature and society. In my Body of Work I combine landscape painting with elements of sci-fi/dystopian themes that look as though they have been appropriated from video games. My artworks investigate the possibilities of technology surpassing us as a human race where we become slaves to it where we worship its strength and power. The idea was inspired by fictional medias such as transformers and the matrix with the idea that we are so reliant on technology that our compulsive nature to always improve it pushes us to the point where the technology we create surpasses us to the point where they are no longer in our world but rather we are in theirs.
