Dr. Indrakant K. Singh received his Ph.D. in Zoology from the Department of Zoology, University of Delhi (DU). Dr. Singh is currently working as an Professor in the Department of Zoology, & Head, DBC i4 Centre, Deshbandhu College, University of Delhi, New Delhi, where he enjoys teaching Genetics, Genomics, Computational Biology, and Immunology.

Over the years, he has pursued his research interests in the areas of Molecular Biology, Functional Genomics, and Human Health. He is a recipient of the Young Scientist Award/Fellowship (2013-2016) by Science & Engineering Research Board (SERB), Raman-Post Doctoral Fellowship (2016-17), Max-Planck Society Visiting Post-Doctoral Fellowship (2019); ICMR-DHR Long Term International Fellowship for Young Bio-medical Scientists (2019-20) and Prestigious Delhi University Excellence Award for Teacher in Service 2021. He has been awarded best Researcher, 2017, and Best Teacher, 2018. Dr. Singh also filed a patent on Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Dr. Singh is a Fellow/life-member/member of many prestigious academic societies including the FESI, IIS, IBS, AIMI, and AMCA. 

Dr. Singh has published (more than 60 articles) his quality research in peer-reviewed journals of international repute like Scientific Reports, International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, Clinica Chimica Acta, International Journal of Molecular Sciences and BBA Molecular Basis of Disease, Computational Biology, Journal of Biomolecular Structure & Dynamics, Chemistry and Journal of Experimental Botany.  Dr. has presented and delivered more than 50 invited talks in India and abroad. He is an editorial board member in many international and national journals like Scientific Reports etc. He has also edited four books and authored many book chapters published by Springer and a few from Elsevier. Dr. Singh has served as a reviewer for several international and national refereed journals. Dr. Singh has trained many post-doctoral, doctoral, post-graduate, and graduate students, and currently supervises eight doctoral and three post-doctoral students.
