Q: When will Dayspring Angeline Elementary School officially open?

A: The school will open on August 12, 2024.


Q: During the inaugural year, what school grades will be available at Dayspring Angeline Elementary School?

A: Dayspring Academy Angeline is an elementary (kindergarten through 5th grade) school, but will have limited spots in year one for 4th and 5th grade. 


Q: What are the hours for the Angeline campus of Dayspring Academy?

A: Campus Office Hours - 7:30 AM – 4:15 PM

 Classroom Hours - 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM


Q: How do I enroll my child in Dayspring Academy?

 A: Pasco County residents in grades PreK – 12 are eligible to attend Dayspring Academy through an equal opportunity lottery process. Learners residing outside of Pasco County may also participate in the lottery; however, priority enrollment is given to Pasco County residents.


Our open Lottery Application period begins on February 1 at 8 PM and closes on March 7 at 11:59 PM. Lottery application forms received after 11:59 PM on March 7 will result in the learner being placed on the waitlist. Lottery application forms are submitted online via the Dayspring website during the February open application period to be included in the lottery drawing. You must submit (1) lottery application for each child you want to enter into our lottery. Results will be emailed to applicant families in April. 


Q: Does my child have guaranteed acceptance into Dayspring’s Early College Prep (Grades 6-7) and Early College Academy (Grades 8-12) if they attend Dayspring Academy at Angeline?

 A: Dayspring Academy is a pre-kindergarten through 12th-grade educational system. Any child accepted into one of our elementary campuses who maintains enrollment through 5th grade is guaranteed admission in our middle and high school programs. Please know, there are pre-qualifications for the Early College program in grades 11 and 12, in conjunction with our agreement with Pasco Hernando State College. 


Q: Does my child have guaranteed acceptance into the Angeline Academy of Innovation if they attend Dayspring Academy at Angeline Campus?

A: Angeline Academy of Innovation is a STEM-dedicated magnet school whose acceptance is obtained through the Pasco Pathways School Choice Application. Applicants are randomized, and seats are filled by the number of open opportunities designated during the seat-setting process.


Q: How does Dayspring Angeline integrate technology within the classroom?

 A: Dayspring utilizes the Core Knowledge curriculum to engage students in diverse historical, scientific, and cultural content. Content is brought to life through one-on-one device deployment in which all children are provided a Google Chromebook for classroom engagement.

 

Q: Will my child receive homework if they attend Dayspring?

A: Homework is necessary for skills practice and reinforcement of academic content. It allows for more efficient use of class time as learners prepare for a topic before class, practice new skills, or reinforce previously learned material. Homework is used in collaboration with teaching, is not given as a routine, but is assigned to maintain rigor, reach academic excellence, and encourage independence and responsibility.  


Q: Is my child required to wear a school uniform?

A: Kindergarten through 5th grade learners are required to wear school uniforms daily, except on designated dress-down days.

 

Bottoms

· Only navy blue or khaki uniform pants, capris, skirts, shorts, skorts, or jumpers.

· Skirts, shorts, skorts, and jumpers must be knee-length. Knee length is not shorter than 2 inches above the knee.

Tops/Jackets

· Short or long-sleeved polo shirts in white, light yellow, light blue, navy blue, or hunter green.

· No logos or emblems are permitted except for the Dayspring Academy logo.

· Jackets, sweaters, and sweatshirts must be solid navy, white, light blue, light yellow or hunter green; no logos or emblems are permitted apart from the Dayspring Academy logo.

· Friday Only: Any Dayspring event shirts (purchased Friday t-shirt, Odyssey of the Mind, Production t-shirts) can be worn with a uniform bottom.


Other Items

· Learners may wear only uniform color solid tights or leggings under shorts, skirts, skorts, and jumpers.

· Socks must be a solid, uniform color.  

· Closed-toe and closed-heel shoes and sneakers only; no flip-flops, heels, Crocs, or sandals allowed.


Q: Does Dayspring have an on-property before and after-school program?

A: Dayspring’s Act II program provides families affordable before-care starting at 6:45 AM and after-care until 6:00 PM.

Q: Will Dayspring Angeline provide bus transportation?

 A: Hub stops will be established based on student needs in the most populated areas. Bus transportation is free to all students; however, space is limited on a first-come, first-served basis.
