Firstly: I researched multiple topics to make from the CNC machine. I came up with multiple ideas, but one stuck out from the rest.
After reviewing my options, I realized that the skis needed to have words too, so that could not work. After cutting the skis out, I realized that I would really be more interested in a ski sign instead of the broncos sign.
The CNC Silhouette Sign went well, I quickly designed the general idea from Adobe Illustrator measuring size and adding perfect shaping to the sign.
After finishing the general design, I saved my work and moved to the next steps on Autodesk Fusion 360. From here I made multiple edits to my build and added edges and pockets to the design, and........I lost all of my design. I had forgotten to save the project so I proceed to do this project a second time.
Next, I watched Ryder and learned how he did the epoxy. I also helped him while the process was happening. I very much enjoyed this part of the project and intend to incorporate it into a project of mine at some point soon.
I finally got to a point in my project where I was proud of my project and went to cutting.
I really liked my design and then proceeded to paint it black and white.
Reflection questions:
What went well?
I feel like the idea was very good, and the pockets were also a perfect addition. I love how I added my personal pieces to the normal ski sign, like the skier, the pinball, and pockets for the diamond.
What could be improved?
I am going to work more on this project to add to it to make the paint job better. I did not like the paint job because it overflowed in many areas and did not look as good as it could have been because of it.
What would you do differently if you were to do this project again?
If I could do this project again, I would probably sand more, and add the paint to make it look more uniform. I would also definitely add epoxy since I know how to use it at this point. I think it would make it look that much better.
I absolutely love this project and definitely would do it again.
