We would like to recognize Linda Linscott as our September Volunteer of the Month!
Linda is always willing to help with anything that PTA needs. During Raise Craze, she helped distribute incentives during lunches. She helped with the Staff Preview Lunch by bringing food and helping during the lunch. She's always a willing Book Fair volunteer, and she loves helping tidy books and put away restocks. She helped make Trolls headbands during the Book Fair and helped Ms. Graham in the library. She regularly provides items for the Dolphin Dollar Store and Staff Snack Attack. Linda cares about the students and staff at Davis and is always doing special things to support them. We also appreciate the work she does as our PTA bank account non-signer reviewer. We are thankful to have such an active and caring PTA member in Linda.
We would like to recognize Zoe Parks as our August Volunteer of the Month!
Zoe has been hard at work, preparing for our yearbook for this final year at Davis. She's finding ways to save families and PTA money and making sure that everyone has the information they need up front. She's already got the cover contest going and has ways for staff and families to upload pictures for events. She helped sort spirit wear, distribute spirit wear, distribute flyers, pass out Raise Craze incentives at lunches, and has been volunteering in the library. She is an amazing volunteer who is always up to help with whatever PTA or Davis needs, and she does it enthusiastically. We are lucky to have her!
Congratulations to Volunteer of the Month, Robert Garcia!
So many wonderful things could be said to describe Robert - charismatic, a big kid at heart, passionate, hardworking, and dedicated. Although Field Day took place in May, it was just the culmination of months of hard work and planning that Robert had put into the day, working to ensure that all Davis students had a blast. His passion for all the Davis kiddos is evident in his quick smiles of inclusion and encouragement for any Davis Dolphin in his radius. Robert shows kindness for all individuals at Davis - students, staff, and parents - and is a great role model for Davis students.
Thank you, Robert, for all your work at Davis and for our beloved Dolphins. Congratulations on being Davis Elementary’s Volunteer of the Month!
Congratulations to Volunteer of the Month, Tatyana Taylor!
Our Volunteer of the Month is Tatyana Taylor! Tatyana is one of our amazing Kindergarten Room Reps. She has volunteered at the parties throughout the year, always being one of the first to message the other reps for what needs to be done, suggesting ideas, and showing up to help set up. For the red carpet event at Open House, Tat was up after school, blowing up balloons and decorating the area to the nines! She helped with the kinder field trip, braving the Perot Museum with excited little ones. We are so thankful to have her as a part of our community and can’t wait to have her helping our Davis Dolphins for years to come!
Thank you, Tat, for all of your help and enthusiasm this year. Congratulations on being Davis Elementary’s Volunteer of the Month!
Congratulations to Volunteer of the Month, Jordan Baxter!
Jordan has been a huge help to the PTA and the first grade class all year, from Room Rep to helping with all of the various activities, including the spring fundraiser, we love Jordan’s enthusiasm for our Davis Dolphins! She always has a smile on her face and a kind word to share for all who cross her path. She is an amazing role model for her daughter, and we can’t wait to see all the ways she continues to be a part of the Davis Dolphin family.
Thank you, Jordan, for all of your continued support and enthusiasm for our students, and congratulations on being Davis Elementary’s Volunteer of the Month!
Congratulations to Volunteer of the Month, Emily Lyman!
Emily helped numerous times last month, including volunteering at the 2nd and 5th grade Friendship Parties, Book Fair set up, providing food for the teachers during the Book Fair Preview Lunch, and helping at the Book Fair, specifically during the always hectic KISS Lunch. With all of the different events and activities last month, students, parents, and staff all benefited from Emily’s willingness to jump in and help. Emily's commitment to Davis is evident in all her actions and dedication, and it's a model for future Davis Elementary volunteers.
Thank you, Emily, for all of your help, and congratulations on being Davis Elementary’s Volunteer of the Month!
Congratulations to Volunteer of the Month, Tony Kuehn!
Husbands are often “voluntold” to help, especially when their significant others are so involved in a group, however, Tony honestly seems to enjoy working with and for Davis Elementary. He always is happy to contribute his building skills, helping construct things like the Dolphin Dollar Store cart or parts of the Fall Festival, like the jail. His work may often be behind the scenes, but when he arrived for the PTA meeting last month and saw only a few rows of chairs had been set out, he got to work, setting out more chairs as parents started arriving, working to provide seats for as many as possible. Between his work behind the scenes and his contributions towards trying to restart the Pod Squad for adults to volunteer at the school, Tony shows that much of what makes Davis Elementary and the PTA successful is not always initially visible, but the results are no less helpful.
Thank you, Tony, for all your behind-the-scenes work, and congratulations on being Davis Elementary’s Volunteer of the Month!
Congratulations to Volunteer of the Month, Jennifer Shaffer!
We have all enjoyed the dinners at Little Rome, cookies from Crumbl, and more, thanks to our wonderful Spirit Night Chair, Jennifer Shaffer! The fundraising that comes from our spirit nights goes a long way towards helping the Davis PTA, and we appreciate her hard work coordinating with these companies. In addition to organizing the spirit nights, Jennifer has volunteered in her daughter’s classroom, both at the winter party last month and at the beginning of the year, in helping decorate the room. Jennifer’s outgoing personality and willingness to jump in and help spreads through others, making everyone feel welcome to join in and participate.
Thank you, Jennifer, for your never-ending Davis Dolphin spirit, and congratulations on being Davis Elementary’s Volunteer of the Month!
Congratulations to Volunteer of the Month, Joanna Morris!
Joanna braves ants, falling marquee covers, frustrating locks, and more to ensure that our marquee is updated with all the information our students, parents, and teachers need to know. Whether it’s over 100 degrees or below freezing, she is out there lining up the letters to share the happenings at Davis Elementary. As one person put it in their nomination, spreading the word about what’s going on is often a thankless, behind the scenes job, and many don’t know how much work goes into it (and how many bug bites one incurs from it), but it’s necessary, and Joanna does an amazing job.
Thank you, Joanna for your dedication to keeping us in the know, and congratulations on being Davis Elementary’s Volunteer of the Month!
Congratulations to Volunteer of the Month, Linda Linscott!
We are so happy to have Linda as a part of our Davis family. She works hard as a Room Representative for her grandson’s class, but she also steps up to help wherever she is needed. At the Book Fair last month, Linda worked registers, straightened tables, helped restock the shelves, bagged purchases, and even stayed late when needed. We know the teachers especially appreciated her there, helping with the Book Fair Preview Lunch! One nomination described Linda as reliable, hardworking, and kind, and we agree--She is all these things and more!
Thank you, Linda for all your help, hard work, and dedication, and congratulations on being Davis Elementary’s Volunteer of the Month!
Congratulations to Volunteer of the Month, Zoe Parks!
Zoe is commonly seen helping Ms. Graham in the library, but she’s also willing to jump in and volunteer to help. From a month representing kindness with the fundraiser, Zoe is an amazing example of kindness, as she is always quick to find how she can be of assistance, whether it’s putting names on the kindness confetti wall to helping as Room Representative. As one person put it in their nomination, sometimes it seems like she lives at Davis, she’s always finding ways to help.
Thank you, Zoe, for always stepping up to help, and congratulations on being Davis Elementary’s Volunteer of the Month!
Congratulations to Volunteer of the Month, Maria Garcia!
She helped numerous times during the month of August including helping prepare spirit wear, assembling the materials for the new reading kits, and coming up to set up for the first assembly of the year. During one of the busiest times of the year, the start of the school year, she was up at the school several days the first week, alone. She is kind, patient, and always willing to step up when help is needed at the last minute.
Thank you, Maria, for all of your help, and congratulations on being Davis Elementary's Volunteer of the Month!
