Listening with Empathy (February 23-27)

This week, we will learn how attentive listening is a key concept of Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood. To listen attentively, we listen with our eyes, ears, and heart, we try to understand the other person’s viewpoint, and we check to make sure we understood their message correctly. 

Speaking Respectfully (March 2-6)

This week we will talk about Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood and how to share our thoughts and feelings respectfully. As a family, take turns responding to the sentence stem: “I show respect to others when I listen by _____.”

Celebrating Differences (March 9-13)

This week, our class will talk about celebrating differences. Valuing differences is a key concept of Habit 6: Synergize. 

Creating a Third Alternative (March 26-20)

This week we will learn to use creativity and collaboration to generate ideas and create 3rd Alternatives. Invite your learner to teach you the steps for finding a 3rd Alternative.

Synergizing with Others (March 23-17)

This week, we will learn about synergy, which includes valuing differences and creative cooperation. Use a Synergizer and work together with your learner to create a solution for a challenge your family may be facing!
