Davies Furlong Consulting has been the lead developer in a new nationwide framework that aims to professionalise the data profession in health and care. It identifies and bands all of the key skills that are required to work in the data profession across the country. This involves anything from the technical aspects to leadership and management, behaviours and with working in projects. It is to be used across any organisation within health and care. Whether that is a local authority or a central NHS organisation, the standards should apply equally across all organisations.
An example of the banding can be seen below. This layout aims to make career development along with recruitment processes easier for both applicants and employers alike.
During the development of this framework, we consulted with every type of organisation within health and care such as charities, local authorities, central NHS, central government, provider trusts, commissioners etc. to ensure that every aspect of a data professional’s role could be accounted for within the framework.
We are currently in the early adopters phase of development with an official launch conference on 2nd October. More information about the launch can be found on the NCF launch conference page or on our LinkedIn page.
