About Mrs. Essic

I am excited to begin my seventh year as the AIG teacher at Shady Grove Elementary School! This year will be my twenty-third year in education, the last twenty of which have been in Davie County. I have an undergraduate degree from Meredith College and earned my Master’s degree in Elementary Education from Catawba College. I have my National Board for Professional Teaching Standards certification and hold licensures in the areas of AIG, reading, and school administration. As you can tell, I love to learn, and I hope to instill that same love of learning in your children.

I am married to David Essic and have two children, Sadie (12th grade) and Thomas (8th grade). In my "free" time, you will most likely find me at a basketball court, track, or dance studio with my children! We also love to spend time cheering for the Heels!
