EBOB

Elementary Battle of the Books is a program sponsored by the North Carolina School Library Association to promote reading and to expose fourth and fifth grade students to quality literature in a wide range of genres. A team is selected from participating students to compete in a district-wide competition which is held at Davie High School in the spring.

Teams of fourth and fifth graders read books from a predetermined reading list of twelve titles. During the competition, the teams are asked questions about the books. After conferring with their teammates, students then must give the correct title and author of the book.

In order to compete in April 2021, participants need to read all 8 of the 10 titles and score 80% or higher on the online test. (Access to tests is provided in Jan. 2021.)

EBOB practice will be during 4th and 5th grade lunches starting in December 2020 in the Learning Commons.

Interested students have access to multiple copies of these books in the PES Media Center as well as the Davie County Public Library.
