While I have taught for 14 years in the classroom and loved it, I realized I could bring the same level of success to my students virtually when we were sent to the emergency virtual phase last Spring. So, for year 15, I volunteered to teach completely online because my skill set, structure, and curriculum connects well with students across all mediums. New things are always stressful, and this is no different, but I absolutely love it and am proud to be in on the ground floor of DCS virtual as we build this new school going forward!

I have been teaching at Davie County High School since 2014. I have taught Math 1, Math 2, and Advanced Functions and Modeling in the past. This year I am teaching Foundations of Math 2, Math 2 and Math 4. I have one class of Math 4 that is meeting virtually this fall semester, during the first period, 8:15-9:40.
I have been teaching most of my life starting with pretending with the church chalkboard. After teaching in the public school system after college, I stayed home with my children for 13 years. During that time, I trained as an Inductive Bible Study leader and held classes in various locations. In 2013 I began teaching English at Wiley Middle School and joined DCHS in 2016.
I'd like to introduce myself as your High School Science Teacher. Science has always been my favorite subject and I like to bring this joy of science to my students each day. I try hard to make my classes interesting, hands-on, visual, & adaptable. Many students come to me with a healthy appreciation for science. My personal goal is to have them leave me with a genuine love for the subject & a thirst for their own inquiry & learning. My passion for teaching extends into my other interests including gardening, native plant studies, traveling, hiking, reading, painting/drawing, volleyball, & environmental issues. Hello! I started my educator life in Guilford County before moving to Davidson County Schools and finally coming to Davie County High School in 2015. I teach English/Language Arts to sophomores, juniors, and seniors, and every day, those students teach me too. Together, we learn, and I love that!
I have been teaching for 17 years. I am a member of the Science Department and teach Chemistry Honors, Academic, Stem Honors, and Stem Academic.
This year will be Ms. Melious 25th year of teaching and she will be teaching physical science, chemistry and physics. She received her Bachelors degree in Biomedical Engineering at New York Institute of Technology and Masters degree in Biomedical Engineering at Rutgers University. She later received her Teaching Certificate from Cook College. She lives on a horse farm with multiple world champion saddlebreds, hackneys and roadsters.
I am Zachary Wood, and this is my fifth year of teaching, and my fourth year at Davie County High School. I have a passion for history, mainly for WWII and aviation. I am holding my grandfather's picture from WWII, and standing on Omaha Beach in the approximate location he came ashore on June 6, 1944.
I am Teresa Barnhardt and teach Math at Davie County High School. I have 23 years experience with 15 in Davie County. I graduated from UNC Chapel Hill with a Master’s degree in math education.
Hi...I am the Child Development teacher. This is my 19th year teaching and my 15th year at Davie. I have a bachelor's degree in Psychology and Family and Consumer Science from the University of Wyoming. I received my Masters degree in Education from East Carolina University and I am a Nationally Board Certified Teacher. My husband and I moved here from Wyoming 19 years ago and we have two children that attend North Davie Middle school.
I am Lori Crump and I will be your child's dance teacher. I grew up in the dance world, training and competing at a local studio in Clemmons. I am a graduate of East Carolina University with a BFA in Dance Education. I have taught dancers from ages 2 to 18 in both private dance studios and public educational settings. I look forward to working with your child and hope that they will learn to love dance!
Chad Edwards has been teaching theatre for 18 years, all in Forsyth County, with 15 years at Mount Tabor High School. This is his first year at Davie High School.
This is my 6th year at Davie High School teaching Spanish. I graduated from App State with a degree in Spanish Education and Student- taught at Davie High as well.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Spanish, with a teaching licensure, from UNCW. This is my 14th year teaching Spanish at Davie High School. I love teaching and getting to interact with my students in Spanish. It is so fulfilling to see the pride they feel when they can understand and are able to have a conversation with me!
I earned my BFA at University of Michigan and then moved to Asheville to work in an art studio. I worked with young students as a swim coach and was inspired to earn my teaching licensure through UNC Asheville. My family is from Clemmons, NC, so we moved here to be close to them and I started working for Davie County schools 7 years ago. I started working at Davie High as a Beginning Visual Arts teacher in 2019.
I graduated from Appalachian State University in 2008 with a degree in Business Education and have 13 years of teaching experience (all at Davie High School). I earned my Carolina Online Teaching (COLT) Certificate in 2014 and will be teaching Business Management I in DCS Virtual.
Mr. Jimeson is in his 12th year as Director of Bands at Davie County High School where he serves as the conductor of the Davie High School Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Concert Band, War Eagle Regiment, and Jazz Ensembles. Since Mr. Jimeson has been at Davie High School, the band has received 15 Superior ratings at the NC State Music Performance Assessment. Under his direction, the DHS Wind Ensemble was awarded the "President's Cup" at the U.S. Army Band's National Concert Band Invitational in 2016. Mr. Jimeson was selected as Davie High School Teacher of the Year in 2013-2014. Mr. Jimeson is a graduate of Appalachian State University where he received his Bachelor of Music in Music Education. While at Appalachian State, he performed in several ensembles including, the Appalachian State University Symphony Orchestra, the Appalachian Symphonic Band, the Appalachian Jazz Band, the Marching Mountaineers, and the ASU Men's Glee Club.
Hello! This year begins my fifth full year with Davie County Schools. I graduated from Appalachian State University with a degree in Business Education and am licensed in Family and Consumer Sciences Education as well as Business and Information Technology Education. My credentials include being a registered ProStart Educator with the National Restaurant Association, a Certified ServSafe® Instructor & Registered ServSafe® Examination Proctor, and a Certified Nutrition and Wellness Educator through the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (AAFCS).
I currently teach Culinary Arts Camp; Hospitality as well as Food and Nutrition classes with Davie County High School and feel blessed to be able to share my love of food and hospitality with my students!
I am Michelle (McNair) Coburn and this is my 4th year with Davie County Schools. I am a 'second career' teacher and worked primarily in sales before becoming a Teaching Assistant in 2008. I found I enjoyed teaching so much, I returned to school for my Masters Degree and graduated at the end of 2012 with a degree in Special Education. I am also certified in English and Social Studies. In the Davie Virtual Academy, I teach Occupational Course of Study Students. I am from New York originally but now live in Clemmons with my husband Chris (we are newlyweds) and my daughters Zoey and Jaye. We also have 3 dogs and a cat.
I graduated Appalachian State University with a degree in Elementary Education. Started DCS in 2011 after student teaching at Pinebrook Elementary School. Added adaptive and general curriculum to my degree after working with Special needs students and started teaching at DHS in Fall of 2012. I also hold certifications in Middle School/High School Math and Science. Currently work with Soaring Eagles at DHS.
