Hi! I’m Mrs. Clark!! I am so thrilled to be your teacher this year. This is my 6th year teaching and my 3rd year teaching Kindergarten. I previously taught 1st grade and 3rd grade. I was born in Leland, North Carolina and have moved around several times since then! I graduated from North Greenville University with a Bachelors of Arts in Elementary Education. My husband and I moved to Davie county 5 years ago from Raleigh, NC. We now live with our two boys James (3) and Leland (5 months) in beautiful Davie County.

My Name is Mrs. Amber Blashaw! I have been working with NC Public Schools in preschool and kindergarten since 2005. I was a Teacher’s Assistant at Fair Grove Elementary in Davidson County until I obtained my teaching license. Since then I have taught Kindergarten at South Elementary in Mooresville, and Kindergarten at Isenberg Elementary in Salisbury. I have been a preschool teacher at CDEC for the past 3 years, and I missed Kindergarten. I am excited to be back in Kindergarten!!

My name is Mrs. Lindsay Miller. I have been working with NC Public Schools since 2018. I graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Birth – Kindergarten Education from Catawba College. I previously taught fourth grade at North Rowan Elementary in Salisbury, however this is my second year teaching kindergarten at MES. When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and my baby boy Adam. I love gardening and all activities outdoors.

My name is Corri Woodring and this is my 7th year teaching first grade in Davie County. I graduated in the Spring of 2014 from Appalachian State University (Go Mountaineers) with my Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. I have a son named Whit and a daughter, Cheyenne, that is due in October. I also have two German Shepherds, Simmons and Fitz. My husband is a teacher and coach at Davie County High School. I am beyond excited to see what this virtual school year has in store for all of us!

Mocksville Elementary

I began working at Davie County Schools in 1992 as a teacher assistant in Kindergarten. I served all grade levels and EC by leading Reading and Math groups until I got my teaching degree in 2011. I have taught fifth grade, fourth grade and Kindergarten at Mocksville Elementary. This year, I am teaching a bright group first graders at DCS Virtual Academy.

My name is Kristy Brown, and this is my third year teaching in Davie County Schools. Although fairly new to Davie County, I am no stranger to education. This is my 18th year in the classroom, having taught first, second, third and fourth grades all across the state of North Carolina. My husband, Philip, and I moved to Davie County 2 summers ago with our 9 year old son, Carter, and our 4 year old son, Jackson. We attend Lewisville Baptist Church, where Philip serves as the Minister to Students and Children. We are excited to be back close to our families, who both reside in nearby cities.

I am a Davie County native, attending Davie County Schools from Kindergarten through my senior year at Davie High. I attended Wingate University and traveled abroad with my husband. I completed a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education at WSSU and went on to complete a Master’s Degree in Elementary Ed. as well. I have nineteen years of teaching experience and I am Nationally Board Certified as an Early Childhood Generalist. My husband, Kevin, and I have been married for 29 years. We have four daughters. Two of them completed Education degrees at UNC-C, and one attended ASU. Our youngest daughter is a freshman at Davie High this year. I have four grandsons and one granddaughter, who are one of my greatest joys! I am excited to be a part of this unique teaching opportunity and I am thankful to be your child’s teacher in DCS Virtual this year.

William R. Davie Elementary

I graduated with my bachelors degree in elementary education from Western Carolina University. This is my eighth year teaching. My home school is William R. Davie and I taught my first seven years there. I have taught fifth grade for five years and second grade for two years. My dream growing up was always to be a teacher and to work with children. I am very grateful I get to live out my dream every day!

Shady Grove Elementary

This will be my 23rd year of teaching. I graduated from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. I completed my Masters in Elementary Education at Winston Salem State University and earned my National Board Certification in 2010. I grew up here in Davie County! I attended Pinebrook Elementary, North Davie Middle, and Davie High School. I taught first and third grades at Old Town Elementary School for my first nine years. Then I came back to Davie County to teach first and second grade at Shady Grove. This will be my 14th year in Davie County! I feel blessed and excited to be able to teach from my Lazyboy in my comfy living room. I enjoy spending time with my family! I live behind my parents, who are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this year! My favorite teams are Wake Forest basketball and football, Appalachian State football, and the Carolina Panthers NFL team! I also love Snoopy and the rest of the Peanut Gang! I'm excited to be a part of this new virtual classroom and I am looking forward to a wonderful year!

Cornatzer Elementary

I have been married to my husband Grant for seven years and we have two sons - Barrett (3) and Colt (15 months). We live in Advance and spend as much time as possible outside. Welcome to 3rd grade! My name is Miss Davis! I'm a teacher at Pinebrook Elementary School here in Davie County but this year, I have the wonderful opportunity to virtually teach students from each school. I have taught 3rd grade for five years and I love it! This December is an exciting time in my life as I'll be getting married and changing my last name to Mrs. Anderson! In my free time, you can find me spending time with my family, playing with my little dog or working in my yard. I love to be outside!

Greetings! I am thrilled to be your child's Virtual third grade teacher this year. I'm looking forward to a new adventure in the 2020 - 2021 school year. This is my 24th year teaching at Mocksville Elementary School. I love being a Ram! I'm a graduate of Appalachian State University. I have lived in Davie County for 26 years. I am the mother of a grad student at Western Carolina University. I enjoy reading, photography, and I love scrapbooking in my spare time. I love traveling to the beach, and the mountains.

I graduated from Appalachian State University in 2013 and went straight into teaching. I taught 1st/2nd grade at a CMS school in east Charlotte, then moved to a Charter School in Charlotte and taught 3rd grade for four years there. My husband and I moved up to Davie County in 2018 and I started teaching 3rd grade at Shady Grove and have been in Davie County ever since!

I knew I wanted to be a teacher when I was fairly young. I come from a big family and the classroom has always made me feel like I'm at home. I love watching my students learn and grow over the year. Teaching will always be a passion of mine because I find such joy and comfort in it.

I have typical teacher hobbies! I love to read... there is nothing quite like a good book! I have one dog who keeps me extremely busy with all her energy. We love to go to the mountains and find a good hiking spot or cruise the beach and play fetch with her in the ocean. I also truly enjoy football! On Sundays, my husband and I enjoy watching our favorite teams play. Go Panthers!

Cornatzer Elementary

I'm originally from upstate NY where I graduated from the State University of NY at Oswego. I then moved for a brief few years to south Florida where I taught kindergarten for a bit. I also received my Master's in Literacy Education from Nova Southeastern University. Going from the snowiest place in the country to Florida during the worst Hurricane season ever, encouraged my move to NC!! After moving to NC, I taught in Rowan County for 10 years. The majority of those years were in fourth and a few in third. Now, here I am in Davie County! I received my local AIG endorsement last year so I'm excited to be teaching 4th and 5th grade AIG this year in addition to 4th/5th grade ELA! This is my 16th year teaching and I can't imagine doing anything else!

I live in Salisbury with my husband Jeremy, my son Landon, and my daughters Layna and Lacie. Landon is in 3rd grade at Cornatzer and Layna is in 2nd grade. Lacie is 3 and attends Central Davie Preschool.

William R. Davie Elementary

I graduated from Forbush High School in 1997. I obtained my degree in elementary education through Lees McRae in 2013. This is my 8th year teaching. I taught 4th grade for the first six years and 2nd grade last year. I’m very excited to be teaching 4th grade again this year! My husband, Greg, and I have two boys. Caden is a sophomore at Davie High School. He loves everything science related. Caleb is in 8th grade at North Davie. He is in band and loves sports. We also have a dog named Zailey. We enjoy camping in our free time.

My name is Megan Markland. I am a Davie County native, proud to have gone through the Davie County School System. I received my degree in Elementary Education from UNC Greensboro and then my Master's degree in Digital Media and Instructional Technology from Appalachian State University. I taught for five years at Shady Grove Elementary, teaching second and third grade. After a short stay at home to care for my sweet boys, Isaac and Eli, I returned to teaching at Mocksville Elementary. I have been teaching at MES for four years, one year in second grade and this being my third year teaching fourth grade. I enjoy playing and watching all types of sports. Most nights and weekends, I can be found at a ball field, tennis court, golf course or gym. I love watching my personal babies and my school kiddos!

I have lived in Salisbury all my life. This is my 24th year in teaching. I have taught 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th grades in Rowan and Davie County. My hobbies include reading mystery books, spending time with my puppies, and my new favorite pastime is fishing!! My second home is Walt Disney World in Florida, where I spend most of my free time. Math is my favorite subject to teach and I'm always learning new things.

My name is Anne-Marie Jones. I am a 5th grade teacher from Mocksville Elementary School. This is my 3rd year teaching overall and my 2nd year as a 5th grade teacher. I started my teaching experience in kindergarten. It was quite a journey and I loved those little kiddos, but I am very happy and have definitely found my niche with the 5th graders. I went to school in Davie County from middle school (at Ellis) through High School. I went on to play volleyball in college at Cabrini University located right outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was an amazing experience and I loved every second being there and growing through college... but I am very glad that I came back home and got the opportunity to teach in the school system I grew up in throughout my life. This new "Virtual Teaching" position has been a great journey in itself, but I am really excited with how the year has started off so far. I hope to continue to have a great year with the children and make the experience a fun one!

My name is Bonnie Schwengel and I am the virtual speech language pathologist this school year. I am a graduate of Appalachian State University with both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Communication Disorders. I have been in the county since 1998. For the past 21 years, my home school has been Cornatzer Elementary School and I have helped at every other school in the county except Pinebrook Elementary School. I love working with my students and have enjoyed getting to know my parents as well.

Hi! I’m Stephanie Steele, EC Teacher exclusively for K-5 students in DCSV. I was born and raised in Davie County and attended CES, SDMS, and DHS. I graduated from Salem College and with a B.A. in Psychology. While interning with the school psychologist, I began my teaching career (lateral entry) at CES in the EC Department for 9 years. I also taught EC at MES for 8 years. This being my 18th year, I was excited about the opportunity to teach for DCSV! It has been a wonderful experience teaching students in K-5 from all over the county. My husband, Matt, and I live in Davie County with our son Evans (13) who is attending DCSV this year as well. We enjoy traveling, watching Evans play soccer, and playing on the lake.
