As a school, our dedication to fostering lifelong learning extends to our faculty and staff. At Davidson Academy, we prioritize continuous growth and development, particularly in the area of STEAM education. Our commitment is evident in the consistent and ongoing professional learning opportunities provided to our staff and leaders. Our leadership team spearheads research-based training sessions ensuring that our entire faculty is equipped with the latest knowledge and practices in STEAM. We also encourage our professional staff members to seek additional learning opportunities by attending off-campus trainings and conferences to further enrich their understanding and integration of STEAM principles. At Davidson Academy, we believe that investing in the growth of our educators directly enhances the educational experience for our students, cultivating innovation and excellence in STEAM education.

We understand the vital role that community partnerships play in empowering and engaging our students in STEAM education, inspiring them to pursue careers in these fields. Our school's parent organization, DAA, has been pivotal in launching our STEAM program by funding the creation of the Terri Simmons STEAM Lab and providing VEX GO Robotics kits for our elementary and middle school students. As we aim to expand the reach of STEAM at our school, we are committed to fostering relationships and seeking additional collaborations with local businesses, organizations, and higher education institutions. 

Leaders at Davidson Academy prioritize communication ensuring that all stakeholders have continuous access to STEAM information and opportunities. This commitment is evident through our strategic use of various channels of communication. Through our active presence on key social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and X (formerly known as Twitter), we provide a glimpse into activities both within and beyond the school day that highlight our STEAM-focused environment. In addition to social media, we utilize two essential communication tools to keep our stakeholders informed and involved. Our weekly "This Week at Davidson Academy" email, sent every Monday, offers an overview of upcoming events, class field trips, and guest speakers, ensuring that everyone is aware of the exciting opportunities. Also, our "Bear Facts" newsletter, distributed every Wednesday, provides a closer look at STEAM activities happening in classrooms around campus and beyond the regular school day, offering a comprehensive overview of our commitment to STEAM education.
