Design strategies for creative community development.
DESIGN
Connecting the landscape with the community and the built environment.
THE STUDIO
Our studio is located in Las Cruces, New Mexico at the crossroads of Interstates 10 + 25, on El Camino Real de Tierra Adentro Trail, a US designated historic trail. We design guidebooks, trainings, and organizational frameworks that support long-term, narrative change for cultural and environmental initiatives.
Site Analysis + Assessments
Utilizing contemporary technology tools to create strategies that produce a sense of place and well-being in the community. Tools may include geospatial, cultural resource mapping and the creation of asset inventories.
Community Development
Supporting long-term planning and hosting story-based convening, co-creates design-led processes that are relational, regenerative, and responsive to place.
EXHIBITION DESIGN
Co-Curated, co-designed, In Place: Future Artifacts and Remembrance on El Camino Real de Tierra Adentro, at the Santa Fe Art Institute, with SciArt Santa Fe.

IMPACTS
+ Supports economic development through heritage tourism and creative industries.
+ Builds bridges between academic research and practical, on the ground work.
+ Integrates Cultural Resource Management (CRM) into resilience planning.
+ Activates underutilized spaces with festivals, public art, and entrepreneurial opportunities.
Tackling complex problems and systemic local and regional issues.
Communities, especially in rural areas face disproportionate challenges in housing, food and job security, education opportunities and land use planning. Our work helps these communities build resilience, while promoting local knowledge and a greater understanding of place and well being.
Building community coalitions.
By involving local stakeholders and community members in the design process, we ensure that solutions to complex issues are rooted in both practical and aspirational needs.
Revitalizing neglected or underutilized community assets.
We can utilize local and connect regional assets- spaces and places to de silo vital resources without “reinventing the wheel” to build capacity for local and statewide initiatives, like Creative Industries, Outdoor Recreation, and Scientific Innovation.
Healing through creative expression.
Art has the power to heal. Through collaborative projects and community activation, develop spaces for healing and transformation, especially in the face of local and global challenges.
