Trent has completed a master’s degree in counselling psychology through Yorkville University and holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Saskatchewan.
Having worked as an engineer and Project Manager for over 20 years, Trent brings a wealth of life experience into his counselling sessions. This context allows him to understand many factors that can make life and work challenging, including stress, burnout, conflict, relationships, boundaries, and anxiety. It was against this backdrop that Trent experienced many of his own personal challenges, and his hope is to provide a counselling experience that is as beneficial and healing for his clients as it has been for him.
Trent will work to understand your unique situation and challenges, bring proven counselling techniques to maximize the benefits to you, help you to identify your goals, and to discover some steps you can take to achieve the changes you want to see in your life.
Trent is trained in eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), the Flash technique, cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), and Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Level 1). His areas of interest include trauma-informed therapy, solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), and mindfulness approaches.
When he is not counselling, Trent can be found perfecting his espresso-craft, and spending time with his family and friends.

Nikki holds an MA in Counselling from City University. With a strong foundation in Psychology and a minor in French from her BA at Mount Royal University, she is driven by a passion for helping individuals navigate life's challenges and transitions.
Nikki has a particular interest in working with clients dealing with anxiety, trauma, relationship struggles, and addictions. Her goal is to assist individuals in moving from merely surviving to thriving in their lives.
One of Nikki’s unique areas of expertise is in equine-assisted therapy. She has completed some certification training in equine-facilitated wellness, and worked with teens and adults using this modality, which has enriched her understanding of how the powerful connection between
humans and animals can promote healing and growth.
Through her invaluable experience at the Distress Centre, she has knowledge of the critical aspects of suicide prevention, crisis management, and has developed a
comprehensive knowledge of community resources. She approaches this work through a strengths-based lens, recognizing that every individual possesses unique strengths that can be
harnessed to facilitate healing and growth.
Inclusivity is at the core of Nikki’s practice. She is passionate about creating a safe and non-judgmental space for all clients, regardless of their background, identity, or experiences. Her approach is client-centered, focusing on helping individuals identify and work toward goals that are meaningful and fitting for them. Nikki believes that lasting and meaningful change is possible when we honor each person's unique needs and strengths throughout the therapeutic process.
Nikki looks forward to collaborating with clients to uncover their inner resilience and build a path towards a more fulfilling life. Her mission is to empower individuals to embrace their potential and embark on a journey of self-discovery and growth. Together, we can work towards positive transformation and lasting change.

My approach to counselling is grounded in lived experience and shaped by the demands, pressures, and resilience developed through years of competitive hockey. I believe meaningful change occurs when we work not only with thoughts, but also with the emotional and physiological patterns that shape how we respond to life.
In therapy, I aim to create a space that is both supportive and appropriately challenging—where confusion can give way to clarity, and confidence is built through deliberate effort and reflection. I believe that the strength of our relationships, along with our willingness to examine and move beyond patterns that no longer serve us, are powerful drivers of personal growth and lasting change.
I have experience supporting individuals with concerns including anxiety, depression, stress, addiction, trauma, relationship challenges, and sport and performance issues. My work is informed by several evidence-based approaches, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
