There once lived a man named Toby Rogers. He was 25 five years old, he was short and skinny, he was muscular, he had brown hair and freckles and blue eyes.
Toby Rogers was leaving his hometown in Colorado to go to Hawaii to do his second job scuba diving. His first job in Colorado he is an engineer. He works at Bob’s Car Repair. He enjoys it there. He makes about $150,000 a year. He gets to feed himself and pay for the bills.
He was heading to Hawaii but he had to stop for gas. He got his gas and he was on his way. He got to the closest airport he could and took a plane to get to Hawaii; the flight took about 5 hours but it felt like a lifetime to get there.
He was at Hawaii, and he had to find the closest hotel to his scuba diving spot. He found the closest hotel and it was Hilo Seaside Hotel. He went to sleep because it was late at night. The next morning he got up and got dressed to eat breakfast at the lobby. When he was done eating breakfast he went out to explore the Hawaiian water. He was in the water for like 4 hours and went to eat lunch at a bar near the beach. He got a burger and then went in for the day.
The next day, it was time to go scuba diving in the waters of Hawaii. As he was getting breakfast in the morning, there was a man that started to talk to him about how he is going scuba diving just like him, but not at the same location.Toby said bye to the man and after he got done eating and got his scuba gear, he was ready to go.
Toby decided to go to the Waikiki beach and go scuba diving. As he got into the water with his scuba gear, he smelled burgers being cooked, “Those burgers smell really good,” he said to the group of scuba divers. Then he jumped into the water and set forth on an adventure. He saw all the beautiful fish swimming around and spotted some coral. He remembered from High School, all about the different kinds of coral, and what they do. He swam around for a little while looking and taking pictures of the fish.
As he kept going deeper, he saw more and more interesting fish. He saw one that caught his eye. A yellow, orange, blue, and purple fish. He followed the fish around for awhile, listening to the sounds of the whales, when he started feeling tired and his oxygen tank was getting low. So he started to head back to the surface and the fish followed him. He went to look at the reef one last time. When he finally got back to the reef he saw what looked like a ship. He looked around and went to explore.
As Toby was venturing through the depths of Waikiki Beach, he saw a sunken ship. He went over and took a look at its side to see what the name of the ship was, and it read “ USS YO-257.” He realized then that this was an old Navy Oiler from the 1940’s. While he was looking around the shipwreck, he noticed that the rusted, corroded metal was covered in part of the coral reef from that area in Hawaii. He found the medical bay of the ship and decided to take a look around. Looking for some medical supplies, he saw a glimpse of what looked to be a body. As he got closer to the body, he noticed that it was a doctor for the navy seals on board.
“Thank you for your service.” he said as he gave a solid solute.
He started to move closer and as he went through the capsule door, a jagged piece of rusted metal was sticking out and was in his path, but he didn't notice it. After he went into the capsule and had a look around, he was on his way out until the piece of metal cut into his oxygen tank. He was already running low on oxygen, so this just made everything worse. He didn't notice the cut in the tank until he was almost out of the hull of the ship.
Since there was a hole in his tank the size of a quarter, the oxygen was all coming out at once; he was going to run out of air. When he noticed that he was running out of air, he tried to take a breath from the oxygen tank, but no oxygen came out. Toby panicked and thought that this was going to be the end and used more of his last air. Then water started filling in the empty spaces of his tank and mask; he was going to drown. Toby tried to find his way out, but he was tot deep and stuck in the ship. He didn’t make it out. Toby drowned and sank to the bottom of the ship, and only the other divers knew where Toby was.
“ I think there is an object down there.” “We should go see what it is before we scuba dive.” said Tyler the diver. “Yeah. Let`s go see it.” agreed Miller the diver. Blue (the really shy diver) agreed and went with Tyler and Miller. They all dive down and once they get somewhat to the bottom Tyler spotted something shiny. “I think there is a body down in that ship!” said Tyler. “Let’s go down and check it out.” Once they had checked it out, they saw an empty oxygen tank with a hole. Blue examined what might have happened. “I wonder what happened.” said Tyler. Blue saw a piece of metal and pointed it out to Miller. “He might have hit this piece of metal,” said Blue. Once they were about to get to the surface, a big shark came and swept the body away from the 3 divers’ hands. “oh no! A shark took the body!” said Blue. “We should head back up to the boat before the shark comes back!” said Miller. Blue and Tyler both agreed and they headed back up to the boat.
