Frost Lights
Over the Rainbow
Over the Rainbow
After a hiatus in 2025, we are excited for the return of Frost Lights - this time as part of our Winter Carnival celebration!
From Thursday, February 5th - Saturday, February 7th*, we invite the campus and community to experience the beauty of a New England winter with a new perspective. Join us in College Park on top of Observatory Hill for an enchanting winter wonderland you won't forget, thanks to a remarkable immersive and interactive light and sound installation inspired by this year's Winter Carnival theme - The Blizzard of Oz: Wicked Cold. We think what we are creating will be quite popular, and we hope you enjoy the magic.
Frost Lights is sponsored by the Programming Board, Collis After Dark, Community & Campus Life, and the Office of Student Life.
*due to predicted sub-zero temperatures, this event was rescheduled from Friday-Sunday as originally planned. Please check the website or @dartmouth.winter.carnival Instagram for updates - Saturday will be tentative depending on temperatures.

NOTE: Please take care when enjoying Frost Lights! While we've done our best to prepare the site, this is a wooded winter environment. Please watch where you are walking and wear shoes with good traction.
Frost Lights is free and open to the Dartmouth Community and our neighbors on:
Thursday, Feb. 5, 5-11pm
Friday, Feb. 6, 5-11pm
Saturday, Feb. 7, 5-11pm
Entry is adjacent to Shattuck Observatory. Due to nearby construction on Observatory Road, the best path to access Frost Lights is by walking up the hill from the Green between Rollins Chapel & Wentworth Hall.
PHOTOSENSITIVE ATTENDEES: There are elements of Frost Lights that contain flashing/strobing effects - if you need these turned off in order to enjoy the event, please speak to a event volunteer at the entry tent and we are happy to assist.
We encourage attendees to park in town on public streets or parking lots. Visitors are encouraged to park downtown, grab a quick bite, enjoy the ice sculptures along N Main St, and walk across the Green to Rollins Chapel and up the hill.
Limited parking is available in the Observatory Road Lot behind Wilder/Fairchild/Burke, which can be accessed by Fayerweather Hill Road. Please reserve this parking for attendees with mobility needs.
