PRIORITIES

MAKING MY CASE FOR A SECOND TERM AS YOUR CITY COMMISSIONER FOR DISTRICT 1

OUR biggest accomplishment was keeping District 1 together. WE put forward a united fight to keep District 1 unified ensuring that YOU, THE VOTERS, have a collective voice for what YOU desire for our community! This COULD NOT BE MORE IMPORTANT THAN THIS YEAR. There is an election MARCH 19th & ONLY THE VOTERS IN DISTRICT 1 CAN VOTE FOR YOUR COMMISSIONER. YOU DECIDE WHO YOU WANT TO CONTINUE WORKING FOR YOU, THE RESIDENTS OF DISTRICT 1!

We have been successful in many other areas as well:

As a foster mom, who recently lost my Godson to gun violence, I will continue to put our children first by focusing on funding for park rangers to keep our parks safe & clean and creating more opportunities for not for profits like Pathways to College, Youth Empowerment, Head Start & For the Children to provide services to you.

Our cemetery is the final resting place for our loved ones! After 8 plus years of empty promises from the city WE finally had the funding to install a fence & gates to both IA Banks & Pinecrest Cemetery. Other elected officials decided to remove this, in addition to $2.1 million in water & sewer projects from the budget. These critical capital improvement projects are greatly needed. Therefore, I stood with the residents who voiced their needs and I voted against the budget.

I am running for re-election because I want US, as a community, to continue the great work WE have started. The city is seeking a $4 million grant to address the flooding on South B, South C & South D streets in between 6th Ave. S to 10th Ave. S, in addition to paving 8th Ave. S. I will continue to encourage job creation & affordable home ownership programs with the available lots the county & city own.

Restructure the CRA boundaries & policies

The CRA has has a poor track record with the residents of Lake Worth Beach in the past 24 months.  I attribute this to serious lack of communication and resident input. It is imperative that the residents and business owners who are affected by any development or policy change has a seat at the table from the onset. I believe we need to have more public charrettes with developers.

The majority of visual improvements you see in the City of Lake Worth Beach such as new lighting, art murals, and way finding signs are mostly due to the CRA. They have been an asset to our city when focused on what they need to focus on like resurrecting blighted areas. 20 years ago, when the CRA boundaries were drawn, the CRA was needed downtown, and they have done a fantastic job at getting rid of blight downtown. Now we need them to focus on S. and N. Dixie Hwy and S. Federal Hwy where drugs and prostitution are profound. By taking the CRA out of the downtown, it puts that tax base back into the city budget and gives the CRA the land it needs to focus on more smart development, good businesses and aid in dramatically reducing illegal activities in Lake Worth Beach.

Lake Worth Beach Pool & Casino Complex

I am a long-time supporter of our pool. The pool is not only a historical representation of our town, but also a recreational outlet and meeting place for families and neighbors alike. With a good business plan, the City can and will be successful with our pool. We need to invest funds in multiple locations throughout the city, but the pool is definitely a priority for me.

We need to form a private/public partnership with an entity that has a proven track record with an outdoor restaurant/bar and entertainment venue. A prime example is the partnership between Jupiter Marina and Blue Pointe Grill in Tequesta. They have a pool, all outdoor seating, tiki bar and a great view. This will give locals the pool we've had for over 100 years and a place to “daycation” as well as attract tourist to contribute to our economy and bring revenue from a long-term rental agreement.

Making our city more small business friendly

Focusing on our youth

Currently our City is not licensed with Early Learning Coalition (ELC), an agency that focuses on providing families access to a variety of early learning programs and services.  ELC assist not only in finding the appropriate center for each child, but in the payments of summer camp and aftercare programs.

With our city not having a summer camp that is up to their standards it puts stress on the small entities that we do have in our city to try and fulfill the needs of these families and it takes away from City's revenue.

As a foster parent, I had to drive to S. Olive camp in West Palm Beach for our son yet, our camp was only 10 blocks away. This is a disservice to our residents who do not have the ability to drive their children to an accredited camp.
