Yes. We can accept most insurance plans. It is important to note though that not all clinicians can accept all insurance plans so we will need to know your insurance carriere before matching you with a clinician. Please see the about section for a list of our participating insurance companies.
We understand that cost can be a barrier to accessing therapy. We accept insurance to help ease those costs of care. If you are using insurance, your carrier's plan, not us, will set your out of pocket costs. You would pay just your copay, coinsurance, or deductible and your insurance will cover the rest of the cost. We can complete an insurance check ahead of your first appointment to help give you a better idea of your exact out of pocket costs.
If we do not take your insurance, many plans offer out-of-network coverage. We offer courtesy billing for out-of-network coverage to make claims submission to your carrier carefree. After paying your costs up front, these reimbursements will be sent directly to you from the insurance company.
We also accept self-pay sometimes referred to "cash pay."
If you do not have access to insurance and do not qualify for a marketplace plan, we do offer an income-based sliding scale starting at $55 per session after the initial appointment cost. Please click here to be taken to the NYS State of Health website to learn more about marketplace insurance.
We do both! Many of our sessions are remote but we also have some availability for in person sessions in the Campbell Hall office. If your initial appointment is remote, you clinician will contact you prior to the session to provide you the secure link to the virtual therapy room.
After you've completed your intake documents in the secure client portal, your first appointment will be scheduled.
If your first appointment is in person you may arrive at the building at your scheduled time. Please wait in your vehicle until you recieve communication to enter the building. If you do not have a vehicle to wait in, please contact your clinician for alternative instructions.
If your first appointment is by video your clinician will contact you before the session to provide you their secure link. You may log on and wait in the virtual waiting room to be let into the appointment.
During that first appointment your clinician will continue to gather important information about you and your goals with therapy. During this time you will get to know your clinician's therapy style and may ask any additional questions you have about the process.
The length of a service can vary depending on the service you are receving as well as on what your insurance will cover.
A typical therapy session and initial appointment will last between 45-60 minutes.
OASAS Evaluation interviews will typically last up to 2 hours.
Group therapy sessions will typically last between 45-60 minutes.
Therapy intensives are typically a few hours to a full day.
It is not uncommon for clients to meet with their therapist on a regular basis. Depending on an indivudal's goals sessions may be weekly, biweekly, monthly, or even longer apart. This is something you can discuss with your clinician in more detail. They will recommend an appropriate frequency but you are always in the driver's seat.
Everyone changes at their own pace. You get out what you put in. Think of us as a GPS to guide you to your destination but the route is your choice. You also never have to do anything that you do not want to do and can stop seeing your therapist at any time. You are under no obligation from us to continue meeting with anyone from our office. We just ask that you communicate your intentions with your clinician.
You can request an appointment by clicking one of the request appointment buttons on this website. Please complete and submit the form and we will contact you as soon as we can. You can also click here to open that form and get started.
We find that it's difficult to get to know someone in just a few short minutes. We also understand that taking the first step is a big deal. We prefer to match you with a clinician and schedule you as quickly as possible. Keep in mind though, an initial appointment is not a permanent commitment on your part. Please use that appointment time to interview your clinician and make sure you feel comfortable with them. We also encourage you to explore therapists from other practices to find your perfect match. Our priority is you finding quality competent care where you are comfortable. If you don't feel like DMHC is a good fit we can provide you with recommendations and referrals for other clinicians.
We do have a NYS Licensed Mental Health Counselor on staff. We consider ourselves a teaching facility so we also employ emerging clinicians that are pre-licensed. All pre-licensed clinicians have completed their graduate education, are specially trained, and are fully qualified to serve your needs. They are registered with NYS to practice mental health counseling under intense clinical supervision. A licensed clinician closely oversees all of their work and documentation. Weekly individual and group supervision meetings are held in compliance with NYS Education Department Law. Please see Our Team to learn more about our staff. Should you have any concerns about your clinician please contact Kristina ASAP.
While we hope you never have to feel unsafe we realize that sometimes it happens. If your therapist is unavailable, Kristina can be reached at (845) 674-6375. Please follow the instructions on her voicemail. If you or someone you care about is experiencing a life-threatening emergency, please do not wait to mobilize emergency services. Call 911 immediately. You may also appear at any local emergency department to be evaluated for care.
Orange County, NY also has two Psychiatric/Addiction Urgent Cares. Please click here for further details about their operating hours, locations, contact information and services provided.
