🕰️When are students able to check out books from our library?
Each class has a time during the 6-day cycle to visit the library for book checkout.
Students are also welcome at the start of school, during the first block (8:25-9:10), to look for books independently and/or pickup their "Savers" if they forgot to return their books during their last library class.
"Savers" are kept for one school day and then are put back on the shelf.
📆When does a book have to be returned?
K-2 students are encouraged to bring back books each week so a new one can be checked out.
3-5 student books are often longer and might require extra time to finish. Students may keep the book(s) until they are done reading. If another student requests the book, we will contact individual students.
😳What happens if a book is lost or damaged?
We hope all books will be returned so they can be shared and enjoyed by our Hindley readers! If a book is overdue by a month, a notice will be sent home to request assistance locating the book. If the book cannot be located or if it has been damaged, a replacement fee will be discussed with the parents.
