Vowel teams are introduced in first grade and then taught again in second. Each vowel team is attached to a key word to help students visually anchor the sound that the vowels make when they are together. This is a great chart to reference with sounding out words in reading or spelling words in writing. This is also a good chart to use as a warm up for reading and writing.
