The Focused Note-taking Process

When students take notes from a video or lecture, or when students are given notes to glue into their notebooks, most students will not revisit those notes unless there is a purpose to do so. As teachers, we should be sending students back to their notes for many purposes over a few hours and days. When students revisit notes within the first ten minutes, and ten minutes each day for five to seven days, retention is almost guaranteed.
